Say it before you see it!
The Tide Has Turned. Now Say So.
Sis, can I tell you what I sense over this season? A shift. No, not a wish, or a mood, but a turning of the tide. And here's what I know about tides: they don't announce themselves with noise. They turn quietly, underneath, before anything looks different on the surface. That's exactly where many of us are right now. The circumstances haven't changed yet, but the current has.
You see, speaking comes before seeing. And this is where most women get stuck. Most wait to see the shift before they'll say the shift. But Romans 4:17 shows us God's pattern runs in the opposite direction: He calls things that are not as though they were. Declaration comes before demonstration. Remember, Abraham was called the father of many nations while Sarah's womb was still empty. This is because in God's economy, the word goes ahead of the evidence.
And here's the part I love as a counselor: psychology has been catching up to this scripture for decades. Your words aren't just describing your life; they're directing it. Over the weekend, I completed an activity. I wrote out the promises of God and what I’m expecting to see before the end of the year. Why? Because before this year closes, we're not waiting on the shift. We're stepping into it, three shifts, woven together, starting this week.
Three Key Steps
Here are a few key steps to take THIS WEEK to see the shift.
Shift Your Speech: Call It Before You See It
Stop narrating your fear and start declaring your future. There's a difference between denial and declaration: denial ignores the facts; declaration outranks them. For example, Sarah's womb was a fact, but "Father of many nations" was the truth. Speak the truth.
Researchers call this self-directed speech, and studies show the words you rehearse shape what your brain scans for. Your reticular activating system filters the world for evidence of whatever you keep saying. Speak lack, and you'll spot lack everywhere. Declare increase, and your mind starts locating opportunity. Your self-talk is setting your sight.
I DARE YOU TO DO THIS THIS WEEK: Write one declaration for what you want to see by December 31st, and be sure to write it in present tense, as though it already is. Speak it out loud every morning during your Selah Sixty.
2. Shift Your Stance: Move Like It's Already True
Faith without works is dead, and declarations without movement are just affirmations. Once you've called it, your body has to agree with your mouth. Noah spoke of rain, but he also picked up a hammer. What would the woman who already has what you're believing for do this week? Do that.
This is called behavioral activation: action doesn't follow feeling; feeling follows action. Confidence is built through evidence, and evidence is built through motion. Every small aligned step gives your brain proof that the shift is real, which fuels the next step. Motion creates momentum, which creates belief.
DO THIS THIS WEEK: Take one action your declaration requires, such as sending the email, booking the consult, opening the savings account, or signing up for the class. One move that only makes sense if the tide has truly turned.
3. Shift Your Schedule: Give Your Leap a Deadline
A vision without a date is just a daydream. There are roughly twenty weeks left in this year, which is enough time for God to do exceedingly and abundantly, but only if you stop postponing your obedience to a "someday" that isn't on any calendar.
SO, THIS WEEK: Open your calendar and schedule your confident leap. Be specific with the day, the hour, and the action. Then tell one friend who will hold you to it. Spoken. Scheduled. Witnessed. That's how shifts become testimonies.
Don't Wait for January. The Tide Is Turning Now.
Hear me: December 31st is coming either way. The only question is whether you'll arrive there having spoken, stepped, and scheduled, or still waiting on the surface to change. The current has already turned, sis. Leap while the water is moving.
Speak it. Step in it. Schedule it. This week.
And This? This Is Just a Sample.
