Crowned in Grace:
Walking Boldly in God’s Gift
CONFIDENT LIFT | 9.22.25
Have you ever considered what it truly means to be crowned in grace?
For years, I encouraged others to receive the grace of God, yet I silently struggled to extend that same grace to myself. I could tell women that God’s mercy was new every morning, but when I faced my own disappointments, missed goals, or moments of weakness, I held myself to impossible standards. I lived as if grace was reserved for everyone else—everyone but me.
Then came a quiet, yet life-changing “aha” moment. The Holy Spirit lovingly convicted me and reminded me: Grace is not given because of performance; it’s given because of who He is. That truth pierced my heart. I realized I had been treating grace like a wage to be earned instead of a gift to be received.
Scripture tells us:
“But He said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’”
—2 Corinthians 12:9
When I finally surrendered, I understood that this crown of grace is not placed on my head because I checked every box or got everything right—but because I am His daughter. Because He is faithful. Because His love is bigger than my striving.
Now, living crowned in grace looks different. It’s showing myself compassion in the middle of chaos. It’s breathing deep when plans fall apart. It’s no longer being defined by my mistakes or unfinished goals. It’s resting in the certainty that my Father calls me worthy—not because of what I do, but because of who He is.
And sis, that same crown is waiting for you, too.
4 Ways to Extend Grace to Yourself
No matter where you are—parenting, caregiving, starting over, or still waiting on dreams—here are four ways to lean into grace:
Release the Past
Your yesterday doesn’t get to define your tomorrow. The mistakes, missed opportunities, or even seasons you wish you could rewrite are not the end of your story. God specializes in fresh starts! Isaiah 43:19 reminds us, “See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?”Rest Without Shame
Rest is holy. Jesus Himself withdrew often to pray and renew (Luke 5:16). Allow yourself to take a break—whether from parenting stress, caretaking duties, or career-building pressures—without shame. Taking time to breathe, nap, or say “no” is not weakness—it’s wisdom.Reframe Delays as Development
Didn’t fulfill that plan yet? Good. God is using the delay as development. Romans 8:28 assures us “all things work together for good.” Even missteps are material for your miracle.
