Remain steadfast

As 2025 Comes to a Close: Pause, Reflect, and Remain Steadfast

CONFIDENT LIFT | 12.15.25

As the year quietly comes to a close, I invite you to experience something sacred—stillness.

Not rushing into what’s next. Not immediately planning, posting, or producing.
But sitting. Reflecting. Remembering.

Before we turn the page to a new year, God often invites us to look back—not with regret, but with reverence.

“Remember the wondrous works He has done.”
—Psalm 105:5

This Is Your Invitation to a Year-End Review

Reflection is not passive—it’s powerful.
In psychology, reflection strengthens meaning-making, resilience, and emotional integration. Spiritually, it allows us to see God’s hand more clearly, even in seasons that once felt confusing or painful.

Ask yourself:

Where did I see God’s provision?

Where did He protect me?

Where did He carry me when I didn’t have the strength of my own?

If I had to sum up this year in just one word, it would be…

Not because the year was smooth or predictable—because it wasn’t. But because it required endurance.

The valleys were plentiful, way more than the mountaintop moments. I experienced prayers that were answered quickly… and others that seemed to sit in silence.

There were seasons of joy, and seasons that stretched me in ways I didn’t expect.

And honestly? What carried me through wasn’t having all the answers.
It was a matter of choosing, again and again, to stay rooted. To stay anchored. To not give up—even when it would’ve been easier to let go.

That’s what being steadfast looked like for me.

“Let us not grow weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”
—Galatians 6:9

From a psychological perspective, steadfastness is the ability to stay grounded even when life shifts beneath you, to regulate your emotions and keep moving forward without losing yourself. Spiritually, it’s trust in motion. It’s continuing to walk with God even when you don’t fully see where the path is leading yet.

3 Anchors for Gratitude as You Reflect on 2025

1. Celebrate the Blessings—Big and Small

Gratitude rewires the brain. Studies show that naming blessings increases hope, reduces stress, and deepens joy.

But gratitude is also an act of worship.

“Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; His love endures forever.” —Psalm 107:1

Write them down. Speak them aloud. Celebrate what God did, even if it didn’t look how you expected.

2. Recognize God’s Hand—Especially in the Hard Places

Often, we only recognize God’s faithfulness in hindsight.

Where did He:

Redirect you?

Protect you?

Sustain you when you felt weary?

“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him.” —Romans 8:28

Trauma-informed psychology teaches us that healing happens when we can safely reflect and reframe. God doesn’t waste a single season.

3. Name Your Word—What Did This Year Teach You?

One word has the power to hold an entire season.

Ask yourself:

Was it healing?

Courage?

Surrender?

Renewal?

Or like me—steadfast?

“Be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord.” —1 Corinthians 15:58

Naming your word brings clarity. It honors the journey and prepares your heart for what’s next.

Now, with that being said…
