Anxiety Is a Signal, Not a Sin
What Is your nervous system telling you?
CONFIDENT LIFT | 1.12.26
Whew chile… in my Sarah Jakes Roberts voice,
This weekend at the Godfidence Conference at Strong Tower Ministries, I stood in awe of nearly 200 women gathered in His name—seeking healing, clarity, and confidence. What a sacred sight it was to watch hearts open and truth land. This weekend at the Godfidence Conference at Strong Tower Ministries, I stood in awe of nearly 200 women gathered in His name—seeking healing, clarity, and confidence. What a sacred sight it was to watch hearts open and truth land.
After my workshop, women kept repeating the same phrase back to me:
“Anxiety is a signal, not a sin.”
And you could feel how freeing that realization was.
So, let me say it plainly—just as I did from the stage:
Anxiety is not a character flaw.
It’s not spiritual weakness.
It’s not proof that you don’t trust God.
From a psychological lens, anxiety is your nervous system trying to protect you. It’s your body whispering, “I don’t feel safe right now.”
And from a faith lens, that signal becomes an invitation—to pause, to listen, and to bring the whole of yourself to God without shame.
When we understand this, we stop battling ourselves and start tending to what our souls actually need. We learn to regulate, to rest, to renew our minds—and to receive God’s peace without condemnation.
When Peter said, “Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.” — 1 Peter 5:7 He was reminding us that Anxiety is universal — but carrying it alone is optional. Does this free you? Please respond and let me know. Because just writing it out hit even harder than it did when I spoke it at the conference.
I’m so thankful for the Godfidence Women’s Conference. Lady Noon and her team didn’t just host an event—they curated a space where women could breathe, heal, and rise. And here’s what I know: the moment you stop questioning whether you’re called and start walking confidently in it… God shows off. Every single time.
You see, confidence doesn’t mean the absence of anxiety.
It means choosing courage, obedience, and trust in the presence of it.
The way Lady Noon, once reserved and shy sis, hosted in boldness and unshakeable confidence, I know heaven rejoiced just as those who know her did. She was the epitome of grace and Godfidence and a true testament of walking in purpose. This is the work we’re doing together—becoming called and confident, anchored in truth, equipped with tools, and supported in community.
And with that being said, if you’re ready for that journey, I’d love to have you join Called + Confident Cohort for Women, which kicks off February 1st. This is for women ready to stop hesitating and walk boldly in their God-given calling—with confidence rooted in identity, not approval.
